The music of Marta Topferova, the Czech-born, New York-based singer and songwriter, fuses a range of Latin American musical styles and rhythms that Topferova has studied and mastered since her childhood in Prague.

Formed in 1994, Blue Highway has, from the start, featured a deep bench of songwriters and lead vocalists, stellar harmonies, dynamic arrangements, and flat-out instrumental virtuosity. Each member is among the most distinguished performers on his instrument of choice, and the band has garnered numerous awards from IBMA, SPBGMA, two Grammy® nominations and a Dove Award.

Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys have long since progressed from founding father status to gold standard of lonesome-sounding, mountain-rooted bluegrass music. Even with that achievement and recognition, however, this record, newly-remixed, remastered, and resequenced, comes like a mysterious bolt out of the long-ago blue.

The album was produced by Patrice Renson and he gave substance to Salif's intentions with obvious efficiency; the pop influences are more pronounced than before, yet fluidly performed: Renson plays the drums, guitar or percussion on other tracks from La Différence.
