Background: 'Radek' is a contemporary chamber opera based on the life of Karl Radek. Radek was a Jew and a communist agitator who eventually died in the Siberian gulag. The opera is set out with a Prologue, 12 scenes and an Epilogue. This is a world premiere recording based on performances given the Bregenz Festival 2005.
