Background: Bohuslav Martinu's opera, Mirandolina, which he composed to his own libretto based on the famous play by Goldoni. Composed during a break from the writing of The Greek Passion, Martinu turned to an attractive stage play to transform into an opera.

This is a live recording of the opera's performance at the Wexford Festival and features among others the talented Czech singer Tereza Matlova. This delightful comic opera was sung in the Italian original.
