Background: If asked to name one of the finest Willis organs in the UK, that of Salisbury Cathedral would surely come in the top six. This superb instrument was built at the same time as Durham's grand organ: here it is presented in all its glory. In keeping with the style of previous Priory DVDs they have attempted to offer a far-reaching visual experience by showing not only the organ and organist but also by filming in and around the cathedral. All the music is connected to Salisbury in some form or other. The bonus features include a tour of the organ, and also David Halls playing the famous Chamber organ at the west end. |
