Background: Oleg Kagan was one of the most shinning stars in the exclusive firmament of international violinists. His international career began in 1965 with his winning Finland's first International Jean Sbelius Violin Competition. He died prematurely of cancer in 1990 and this CD, recorded in 1989 at Kuhmo Festival, is one of his last recordings.
