Background: In this debut recording as a duo, Marie Macleod and Martin Sturfalt give us their take on the complete works by Felix Mendelssohn - and what a subtle yet inspiring interpretation it is! Marie Macleod, cello, and Martin Sturfalt, piano, started working together as a duo in 2003 when both were still students at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. Whilst both players enjoy busy individual careers performing as soloists with orchestras and in various chamber ensembles, working reguarly as a duo enables them to explore their common interest for less wellknown repertoire.
About Marie Macleod 'powerfully eloquent' The Guardian. 'a cellist who can hold a stage and aptivate an audience' The Strad. |
