Background: The Trio Parnassus presents a real rarity. Together with violist Hariolf Schlichtig, they perform not only Robert Schumann's famous Piano Quartet but also his early Piano Quartet in C minor, which until recently was thought to be unplayable.

Because this was an early work by the highly gifted but inexperienced teenage Schumann, the score was full of errors and gaps. However, the C minor quartet has now been rendered playable on the basis of additions and corrections undertaken by Joachim Draheim and the Trio Parnassus. The successful result was premiered by the Trio in 2005.
