Background: This CD features 'Peches de Viellesse' - 'Sins of Old Age' from Rossini's collection of comic piano pieces. These works, which contain ironic titles, can be perceived as precursors to the work of Erik Satie. In contrast to Satie, Rossini did not want to offend anybody and thus these pieces were never printed.

It was not until 1954, almost one hundred years after his death, that they were published. Stefan Irmer s regarded as one of the most prominent interpreters of unusual repertoire.
