Background: Were these petits motets intended 'to be sung at Benediction by the Hundred Daughters of Mercy', really written by Henry Madin? Such is the view of Anne-Catherine Bucher, who directs her Concert Lorrain in these works which are entirely worthy of the musician who left his mark on music at Verdun Cathedral, and whom Titon du Tillet called 'the foremost motet composer of our age'. |
