Background: Few musicians of the early 1900s still have such an aura as Hermann Scherchen. With Scherchen's interpretative approach any work of repertoire sounded like new. And so even in these two Beethoven compositions Scherchen is absolutely modern, revealing himself as one of the great protagonists of the last century. |
