Background: This three-CD box set includes the ten sonatas for violin and piano recorded by Heifetz between 1947 and 1952 and is a testament to his musical perfectionism. In nine of these works he is accompanied by his friend Emmanuel Bay, and only for the renowned and demanding Sonata a Kreutzer is he accompanied by the more experienced Moisewitsch.
