Background: Two productions, recorded live at Covent Garden, including much rare and unpublished material, and an absolutely indispensable feast for lovers of great singing. Zenatello was the finest Otello of his time and it is tragic that we have no recordings of his Desdemona, Lotte Lehmann. Only two sides of Chaliapin's Faust have previously been issued; now all 11 extant sides have been gathered together, including a complete Act I.
