Background: Re-issue of a CD taken from a 1958 recording. At the time when most British jazz groups were thought a pale imitation of 'the real thing' this unusual two tenor unit was the exception. Hayes and Scott were two of the very few British horn players who could hold their own with their American peers.

Tubby Hayes, something of a wayward genius, went on to become the most renowned British sax player in modern jazz but died at the age of 38 leaving a slim catalogue of recordings, so this re-issue is a welcome addition.
