Background: Following on from the successful release of Elgar solo piano music volume 1, David Owen Norris has put together another equally inspiring recording of Elgar's music. No less than two world premieres are present on this recording, the first is the March No.6, drawn from unpublished sketches safely housed in the Elgar Will Trust. The second is Falstaff arranged by Sigfrid Karg-Elert, which Norris came across at the British Library where it had been deposited by a private collector. This disc will no doubt become the authoritative piano versions of these works and enjoy much critical acclaim. |
