Background: Francisco Alonso (1887-1948) was regarded as the foremost composer of the genre known as Zarzuela. Settling in Madrid in 1911 Alonso made his first attempts at composing Zarzuela. This hugely popular form of operetta crossed with musical theatre, was ideal for Alonso’s tuneful compositional skills.

Teresa Novoa and Rodrigo Esteves are regular performers in this repertoire as well as singing on the opera stage throughout Europe and the USA. High spirited and joyful performances.
