Background: Produced after a prolonged critical and physical low point, Cole Porter’s return with the adaptation of Shakespeare’s Kiss Me Kate, with it’s added layers of theatrical backstage melodrama, proved to be his long running swan song, and contained some of his best loved show tune compositions. This digitally and dolby surroud recording utilises the original orchestrations performed by the National Symphony Orchestra with ‘true theatrical spirit’, and was recorded at the internationally renowned Abbey Road studios.
