Background: Pietro Nardini (1722-1793) during his lifetime his renown was great, reaching beyond the boundaries of his native Italy. This CD offers four of Nardini’s compositions for violin and orchestra - three of which never published before - which have been recorded following criteria that are rigorously faithful to the originals. These are works of excellent musical quality; no less outstanding is the violin writing of this Tuscan composer who, in his day, was considered one of the finest violinists in existence.
