Background: Leroy Anderson, was one of the great American composers of the light orchestral repertoire. After working for the Boston 'Pops' Orchestra under Arthur Fiedler, he gained an international reputation for his imaginative light, and often humorous, compositions. He was also a fine conductor and brilliantly directed recordings of his own music.
