Background: The eminent lyric tenor Christoph Prégardien's recordings of the German Romantic Lied repertoire have been highly acclaimed by public and press alike and have received many major international awards. On this hybrid SACD release he teams up with the pianist Andreas Staier in a wonderfully fresh account of the Schubert song cycle Schwanengesang.

Prégardien's recording of Schubert's Schöne Müllerin with pianist Michel Gees, (CC 72292) was an 'Editors Choice' in August 2008's Gramophone which referred to - 'Prégardien's sweet silvery tone…and found his reading… intensely moving'. It was also very well reviewed in the BBC Music magazine which stated - 'Prégardien brings ever new revelations to the songs…'.
