Background: Born to a British father and a French mother in 1784, pianist-composer Georges Onslow lived most of his life in France. Although highly regarded at the time, his music fell into neglect and has only been re-evaluated in recent times. The critically acclaimed Modern Times_1880 (Ilia Korol with Norbert Zeilberger on fortepiano) play some of his most accomplished music, the first three of his six violin sonatas.
