The CD taken from the archives of the Bavarian State Opera documents the uniqueness of Lucia Popp's voice. By the time that Lucia Popp appeared at Munich's National Theatre in 1972 in Otto Schenk's now legendary production of Der Rosenkavalier, conducted by Carlos Lkeiber, she was already a singer of international standing and considerable experience.
