Background: With the exception of the Dvorák Quartet op87, all of the recordings were made in collaboration with the stellar violinist, Louis Kaufman. Kaufman and Balsam were frequent collaborators, especially for the early LPs that they made for the Concert Hall label. Those LPs are the source of these recordings, which have been restored by Grammy-winning Producer, Adam Abeshouse. The Dvorák Quartet recording features members of the Winterthur String Quartet, including the wonderful Czech violinist, Peter Rybar. |
