Background: Chamber music with trumpet? Can that work, considering how the trumpet demands lots of space to allow its regal voice to unfold in all its brilliance? For that very reason, composers tended to avoid considering trumpet in their chamber music until the end of the nineteenth century. In the twentieth century, however, composers decided that such reservations regarding the trumpet were outdated, and began including it in their chamber music as well. This release is a showcase of a new form of chamber music the trumpet proves itself altogether equal to the new task.
