Background: Norwegian composer Geirr Tveitt was an ardent collector of folk melodies and while the simplicity of Hundred Folk tunes from Hardanger concerns itself, as so much of Tveitt's music does, with the closeness of the Hardanger people to their landscape, it also shows influences of European and other Nordic composers.
