Background: Tom Kerstens is a major figure in guitar music today. A highly acclaimed and versatile performer on modern and period instruments. Granados was fascinated by the work of painter Francisco Goya (1746-1828) whose ability to depict what the composer regarded as the essence of the Spanish character, greatly inspired his music. This recording features the soloists own arrangements made from the new Urtext edition for the piano by Alicia de Larrocha and Douglas Riva, published by Boileau.
