Background: This is the only recording of Bruckner's Symphony No.3 conducted by Horenstein despite the fact that he broadcast the symphony in 1957 with the BBCSO in Maida Vale. It is therefore an important addition to his discography. This is a very intense driving performance with a huge dynamic range, excitingly recorded for 1963.
