Background: These première recordings of instrumental and chamber pieces for organ, piano, violin and viola by the Italian late Romantic composer Aldo Finzi (1897-1945), whose early promise was cut short by Jewish persecution in World War II, virtually completes his recorded legacy on Bel Air. The label’s fifth CD of Finzi’s beautiful music, it’s coupled here with equally melodic chamber works by famous film composer Nino Rota.
