Background: Arbiter has almost single-handedly given us the opportunity to hear, rather than just hear about, the legendary Horszowski - this is their sixth CD release, and again brings us only hitherto unpublished recordings. The Beethoven concerto was taped almost exactly 50 years ago (in very acceptable sound), and by then Horszowski had already been playing it for over 55 years - it was the work with which he made his Warsaw debut, aged 10, in November 1902!
