The styles are predominantly Classical and vary from 'straight' Bach to Piazzola's tango via fabulous pastiches on the styles of Vivaldi Rachmaninov and Verdi. He humorously alludes to previous arrangements of Bach by the Swingle Singers and Wendy Carlos to name only two and forays into the world of dance via gospel ragtime and free jazz. In all there are 72 different variations and a fascinating roll-call of musicians and collaborators. This is the best yet!.
