Background: For this recording the Argentinian cellist Sol Gabetta has chosen five concertos of Vivaldis for cello. Probably composed after 1723 they stand out for there virtuosity, stirring tempos and graceful cantilenas. Gabetta is accompanied by one of the best known Italian early music ensembles, the Sonatori de la Gioiosa Marca. |
