Background: It was as a young church organist that Leopold Stokowski grew to love the music of Bach. Later, he arranged a number of Bach's organ works for full symphonic forces. The results were a spectacular success and through Stokowski's Bach transcriptions music lovers heard baroque music in a new guise.
