Background: Juan de Anchieta was one of the leading Spanish composers of sacred music of his time. Of his compositions some thirty works survive, among them his Missa Sine Nomine. On this recording the Mass is interspersed with works by Anchieta’s contemporaries and with other liturgical pieces of the early 16th century.
