Background: The soprano who between the wars embodied more than any other the ideal of the Wagnerian dramatic soprano, Frida Leider was born in Berlin on 18-Apr-1888. At first self-taught in music Frida Leider trained in voice privately, with various teachers, in her spare time. She gave her last recital on 16-Feb-1946.
