Background: George Enescu was born in 1881 in the Rumanian town of Liveni. He was a precocious talent, so gifted that, aged only seven, he entered the Vienna Conservatoire as an accomplished violinist; he graduated with distinction before his 11th birthday. Lawrence Foster brings to these performances an insight and passion for Enescu's music.
