Composer:
Ludwig van Beethoven

Artist(s):
Yehudi Menuhin

Conductor:
Yehudi Menuhin

Background: One of the world’s greatest-ever practitioners of the art of violin playing, Yehudi Menuhin was an inspiration to musicians everywhere. These special Menuhin recordings are being issued exclusively for the very first time.

The recording of the Beethoven is highly unusual in that it is directed by the violinist himself, while the Tchaikovsky Sérénade Mélancolique was intended as an addition to a concerto recording in 1959 which couldn’t be issued at the time because Menuhin did not tape the cadenza.
