Background: Daniel Harding returns to the great Romantic repertoire with this new recording of Mahler's Fourth Symphony. This is repertoire that he really treasures and performs regularly to enthusiastic praise around the world. Harding here conducts the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. Dorothea Röschmann made her debut at the 1995 Salzburg Festival as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro under Nikolaus Harnoncourt. She made such an impact that she was invited to sing the same role in the 1996 and 1998 festivals, as well being invited to the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. A singer of great promise and versatility, she is equally at home in Baroque, Classical and Romantic repertoire. |
