Background: Mikhail Pletnev's Beethoven project is a large-scale recording venture that is unprecedented in his career - his first Beethoven Symphonies recordings. Pletnev recorded all Nine Symphonies with the Russian National Orchestra in a Moscow studio. The project reflects a very individual and special reading of Beethoven's music.

All of these musicians lived with and prepared this project in order to be able to record it in such a concentrated time span.
