Background: Juan Diego Flórez returns to the role which brought him stardom when he sang it at short notice in 1996. In 2004 Flórez returned to Pesaro to sing the role of Corradino in Rossini's rarely performed Matilde di Shabran - this time with acclaimed French bel canto star Annick Massis. Again the critics were unanimous in their acclaim.
