Background: These celebrated recordings by one of the greatest cellists of the twentieth century, János Starker, of three of the most popular cello concertos in the repertory, were first released on CD in 1991. The Schumann and Lalo Concertos were recorded on 35mm magnetic film; 3-track half-inch tape was used for the Saint-Saëns.
