Background: Riccardo Chailly is acknowledged as one of the finest interpreters of both Bruckner and Mahler. It was while he held the post of chief conductor of the Radio-Symphonie-Orchester Berlin that he began his Bruckner cycle. He complete the cycle when he moved to the post of chief conductor at the Concertgebouw.
