Background: This album is Bryn Terfel's irresistible storming of the Wagnerians' bastion his fine dark bass-baritone with great conviction and a variety of colour show as an enormous emotional depth and maturity beyond his years not to forget his formidably exact and natural German.

Having already recorded arias and scenes of Wolfram the Dutchman and Hans Sachs on former releases this is Terfel's first pure Wagner album and his first Wotan's Farewell and scenes of Amfortas.
