Background: April 6th 2009 is the 80th birthday of one of the most versatile of musicians - Andre Previn. He began work for MGM as an arranger for films and he also made a name for himself as a progressive jazz pianist. In 1968 he was appointed principal conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra and this box set features the recordings he made for EMI with the LSO.
