Background: This second volume of Warner's ‘Strings of Fire’ series, like its predecessor, Strings of Fire - Crossover Today, presents highlights of the eponymous Leipzig festival. All the tracks were recorded in concert at the renowned Leipzig Gewandhaus in 2002 and 2003.

The selection offers an overview of the current crossover scene, which is attempting to break boundaries with its exciting combination of musical passion and intelligence. In this fusion of ‘serious’ and ‘light’ music the emphasis lies on melodic and rhythmic depth. Beyond this interest in discovery, all the ensembles represented on this compilation have little else in common.
