Background: Lionel Monckton was one of the foremost composers of operetta / musical comedy for the English stage in the early 20th century. While some of his numbers have remained popular, others have not been heard for a long while. This CD re-introduces the concept of the 'concerted highlights' album taking selected items from the shows and making substantial medleys. They are great to listen to and also a super introduction to Monckton's fine music.

The CD is performed by Theatre Bel-Etage who have successfully toured with British light opera and music hall programmes.
