Background: This, the first opera by Montsalvatge, was premiered at the Liceu Theatre Barcelona on the 10th of January 1948 raising to the highest levels the well known traditional story. An opera in one act, it is aimed not only at children but also the general opera audience. Montsalvatge submerges us in a fantasy of magic and love. This CD contains a multimedia file with one of the last interviews given by Montsalvatge as well as pictures of the recording sessions in 2003.
