Background: Charlie Haden releases Charlie Haden Family & Friends - Rambling Boy, a 19-song CD featuring tunes from traditional country, bluegrass and contemporary Americana which pays homage to the music he sang as a child with his parents and brothers and sisters on the Haden Family radio show during the late thirties, forties and early fifties.

The focus of the album is his contemporary family-his son, Josh Haden, his triplet daughters Rachel, Petra and Tanya Haden and his wife and co-producer, Ruth Cameron, - who are singers and musicians in their own right, and who all contribute strong performances. Haden himself makes a rare appearance as a vocalist on the final track, a moving soliloquy to his place of birth, 'Oh, Shenandoah'.

Haden says the album 'Is a dream come true,' adding, 'It's bringing my life full circle and the whole process of recording it with my family and friends meant so much to me. It's a unique American story about someone who was born and raised in the US and brought up in the Qzarks immersed in traditional country music and then went on to play jazz.'
