Background: Giselle is the world's oldest repertoire ballet and is among the most famous still performed today. Based on a tale by Heinrich Heine and first performed in 1841 at the Paris Opera, Giselle was an immediate success with the audience. Italian ballerina Carla Fracci stars in the title role and is joined by Dane Erik Bruhn as Count Albrecht.
